Last week we played host to three students from Burgate School in Salisbury, as part of their work experience projects. The students spent at least one day with each of the FilesThruTheAir, marketing and sales teams, learning what each department’s roles are within the business.
Sales
The students were given an overview of Sales and what each team member’s job role is within the department. They were taught about quoting, target management, stock holding and a number of other important tasks. Working closely with the team, they also had a go at reviewing and understanding existing reports, analysing trends in sales out and predicting sales.
Marketing
After learning the variety of tasks that the Marketing department undertake, the students were given the option to choose the type of activity they wanted to try. They looked into the products and services we offer at Corintech and FilesThruTheAir, and from that could investigate into competitor brands and products. They undertook a variety of mini projects, from creating spreadsheets of comparative information to designing promotional marketing material, of which we are sending to print to display within our offices!

The students were introduced to each member of the team and to their role in the development of the brand. The students then got some hands-on experience in programming and app development.
