The expansion of the Corintech design team, has created a new opportunity for a Technical Manager. In this role, you will develop the existing core team at Corintech by recruiting across all design disciplines to build an engineering team with a flair for innovation, and skill in the design of electronic products and assemblies.
You will have a significant influence on all engineering activities within the company, and for the right person, future opportunities to expand the role further and progress to director level.
The role would suit someone who has worked in similar environments and has either existing experience as a team leader or is an engineer who now wants to take on more responsibility and move into this type of role.
Job Outline:
- Lead the UK Design Engineering team developing world-beating electronic products for our own group portfolio and for our customers.
- Own the process of delivering all Design Engineering content in all disciplines in the development of custom and standard products, including:
a) Mechanical/3D
b) PCB Layout
c) Embedded/System/Server Software
d) Electronic Design
e) Test Systems
It is your responsibility to check and where appropriate, sign-off all work produced by your team.
- Liaise with our customers, taking the technical lead in creating product requirement specifications.
- Provide technical input and support to our sales teams in preparation of product design proposals.
- Continually improve existing products through the use of the latest technologies, to maintain our market leading position.
- Liaise with our manufacturing teams in the UK and Far East to see your products safely into full scale production.
- Assist with the development of the team by mentoring junior engineers.
- Work with the Technical Director, Project Engineer/Manager and in consultation with your team, to plan-in achievable timeframes for projects at proposal, inception and throughout the project.
- Work with the Project Engineer/Manager to ensure that projects are on-track and that members of your team are completing tasks to the agreed schedule.
- Manage personnel in your team with the assistance of the Technical Director including conducting pay reviews, appraisals and processing requests for leave.
- Help to formulate and implement design related processes and procedures including those for the QMS.
- Be prepared to be hands-on with Electronic Design and Software development if needed.
Skills and Experience:
Must have:
Team leadership, Embedded Software in C, Analogue & Digital electronic design, Commercial awareness.
Nice to have:
Ultra-low power design, battery management, sensor interfacing, wireless communications, USB, I2C, switching power supply design.
